The SafRoom Tornado Shelter has been tested and approved to withstand an EF-5 tornado by Texas Tech University, and have also been approved by the National Wind Institute and FEMA. They are made in the USA from 10 gauge steel and ship to your door as a complete kit with heavy duty galvanized hardware for longer life. All the necessary hardware is included for easy assembly and installation. SafRoom tornado shelters feature durable powder coated panels, grade 5 bolts and hardware, carpeting, and a battery operated LED light for comfort and safety. The entry door has a 24-inch x 80-inch opening to make entry easy, is vented for ample air exchange, and swings out to maximum interior space. It also features a secure 3 bolt latch system that is lockable from the outside to allow the room to be used as a secure storage facility when not needed as a shelter.
